Ten Aubrey girl powerlifters qualified for the THSWPA state meet and the Chaparral team placed first at the regional meet at Gainesville. The Lady Chaps will compete in the 4A Division 2 meet.
The team finished first with 60 points in region 6.
Heather Hough, Kristin Martin, Brooke McAlister, Cameran Bilderback, Emma Gillum, Bela Herrera, Kylie Montgomery, Makayla Asberry, Maggie Fawks and Lucy Spielman were the state qualifiers. In order to qualify for state, a lifter must finish in the top two of their respective weight class and/or lift the state automatic qualifying total.
Aubrey also snagged seven of the eight lifter awards and received the Coaches Award.
