The Aubrey girls powerlifting team placed second at the S&S Meet at S&S High School on Thursday, Feb. 10.
The Lady Chaps placed second out of 22 schools.
"This meet allowed those already with totals on the regional board to improve their scores as well as perform in front of regional level judges. This was a great competition for us to see how we would fare against some of the same schools that we will see at regionals as well," Aubrey coach Ron Gathright said.
Sydney Wright placed 1st in her weight class of 123 pounds, and Te'a Mosby placed 1st in her weight class (165 pounds).
Place medals are usually given for 1st through 5th place. A * indicates that the total score is at or above the state automatic qualification score. As long as the lifter can score the same total or higher at the regional meet on March 2nd, she will automatically advance to state. A ^ indicates that the total score is at or above the regional automatic qualification total. In the event of a tie, the lighter lifter ranks first. Here is how our girls did:
