Girls Basketball Moves to 13-12 With Win Against Van Alstyne

The Aubrey girls basketball team moved to 13-12 overall with a 46-35 victory against Van Alstyne on Friday, Jan. 28.

The Lady Chaps are now 7-3 in district play.

"I was really proud of the way the girls came out and started the game tonight," Aubrey coach Ron Gathright said. "We had problems in the third quarter with turnovers, but I liked the way the girls bounced back in the fourth quarter and finished the game."

Aubrey jumped out ahead in the first half, 30-10, but needed a strong run in the fourth quarter to stay ahead for the win.

June Chatterley led the offense with 13 points.
