Aubrey Edges Out Melissa, 39-38

Audrey Beaty made two free throws with four second left to give the Aubrey girls basketball team a 39-38 victory against Melissa on Friday, Jan. 14.

The Aubrey Lady Chaps improved to 4-2 in district and 10-11 overall. 

"We did not play very well tonight but I was very proud of the way that we found a way to win," Aubrey coach Ron Gathright said. "Audrey Beaty really stepped up for us tonight with two clutch free throws with 4 seconds left in the game with us trailing by 1 point."

Rhianna Stevenson and Audrey Beaty led the scoring with nine points each. Abby Hammett added seven, and Kynadi Hall pitched in six.

Score by quarters for Aubrey were 3,10,13,13.  Score by quarters for Melissa were 6,10,10,12.
