Girls Basketball Falls in Season Opener

The Aubrey girls basketball team lost its season opener to Ursuline Academy, 44-34, on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
"I was very proud of the way the girls played so hard tonight," Aubrey girls basketball coach Ron Gathright said. "We did an outstanding job on the defensive end of the floor. We just need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and that will come with time." Aubrey trailed by two points at the half, 15-13, but Ursuline used a 15-8 fourth quarter run to take control of the game.
June Chatterley led the team with seven points, and Rhianna Stevenson and Audrey Beaty followed with five points each.
